Horse Hair Vase - Simon Says
Horse hair raku vase made with hair from “Simon Says.”

Simon’s owner had these touching words about him:
Simon Says (“Simon”) was my first horse. I was 29 and he was 11 when I bought him for short money from an ad placed in the “Want Advertiser” at a barn on the side of the Mass Pike . I waited 25 years for my own horse, begging and waiting and begging and waiting until I finally earned enough of my own money.
He was an off-the-track TB, with Native Dancer and Tom Fool in his bloodlines. Three starts, but never placed. We did everything together: trail riding, dressage, baby eventing, hunter paces, for 12 years. He was a handful until he was about 17/18 and then settled down into the perfect gentleman. He passed away of squamous cell carcinoma just before his 23 birthday. He was my “heart horse”. I still miss him everyday 💔
Please not: raku pieces are not vitrified and will sweat water over time. The inside has a sealant but it is not perfect and water may still seep over time.
